Hi friends,
Happy happy Friday to you all!! Welcome to today’s Featured Friday- Stress Less post. During your wedding planning process, I can promise that you’ll have a meltdown ATLEAST once, if not more. It’s a BIG stress ball of an event! It’s one of the most important days of your life and you want everything perfect, as you should. You have details galore, families to bring together and about 8,000 projects going on all at the same time. Never-mind the occasional bridesmaid drama, groom frustration, vendor arguments and on and on.. Someone once told me to expect one thing to go wrong during your wedding, if nothing does, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

If anyone knows me, then you’ll know that when I get stressed, sick, fustrated, ANYTHING..I think tea can fix it. I LOVE tea..green, white, herbal, flowering..TEA=ME. But in all honestly, I have to say that tea alone will NOT fix the issues and stress you’ll endure planning your big day. Sorry…but that is the hard, real truth of it all. Expect stress, expect drama, expect lack of sleep…cause if your having a wedding, no matter how big or small, shit happens. PERIOD. In the end, it all comes down to how you handle situations you are faced with and focusing on how to get through it all with that bridal glow still intact.

My advice to you is….
1.) Remember WHY your having a wedding in the first place- to marry that man/women of your dreams! THAT IS THE MEANING BEHIND IT ALL. That is what is truly important here. I adore the details BUT marrying your soul-mate and finding that happily ever after is the main goal. FOCUS.
2.) Ask for help. Friends, family, vendors..just ask! It never hurts and people enjoy helping. For example, if you have favors that require assembly, have friends over for cocktails and knock them out in one night. Fun with your friends and 1 thing off the to do list. A total win/win all around.
3.) Do not try to take on the entire to do list in 1 day. Follow steps, month by month and figure out the urgency of when things are actually due. Do not think that you have to choose a nail color for your toes when your wedding is 9 months away…prioritize. Looking at the entire to do all at once, will cause a meltdown for sure, which is unnecessary.
4.) Stay organized. Being prepared will help you jump back from a major crisis and strategies a game plan to get though issues. Keep paperwork in order and take notes.
5.) Workout. Besides getting into amazing shape for your wedding, working out improves your attitude and lowers stress levels. I don’t care if you simply take a stroll around the park, get in some exercise. You’ll feel good, I promise.
6.) Take a moment to breath! Stop and smell the roses, seriously. Read a book at night, enjoy that tea :) and just breath. Such a simple step, but we (ladies) get worked up into a fit and forget to take in that fresh air. Want to go a step further and combine #4 & 5? Sign up for Yoga, it’s amazing how the stress just dissolves away into nothing.
7.) Talk things out. When you’re frustrated, things tend to build up and before you know it- breakdown central. Call a friend, fiance, mother, and just talk it out..why are you feeling this way? Yes, talk about your feelings. Do not bottle up all your anger. It’s extremely unhealthy to not deal with those emotions you’re having.
8.) When all else fails, just dance. Put on some music and rock out..have a dance party, be goofy. I guarantee it makes you feel better. Don’t take life too seriously, you’ll never make it out alive. ENJOY it all, every freakin’ moment..and take a moment to have that dance party and LAUGH!!!
That is my advice to YOU and anyone dealing with high stress levels..all will be OK in the end. You’ll walk down that isle, marry your soul-mate and have your happily ever after- not matter what. Flowers don’t show up at your church, it’s raining the day of, the centerpieces which have floating candles are not floating….OH WELL. Something is bound to happen, but those things not important when you really think about it. LIFE, LOVE & HAPPINESS IS!
