Hi everyone!
It’s FEATURED FRIDAY TIME!!! I love writing this blog and sharing it with you every Friday..it’s truly enjoyable. And we are finally seeing some nice weather in Massachusetts, so today I wanted to chat about SPRING. The first official day of spring this year is March 20th. Spring makes me think about sunshine, flowers and fresh air..such a wonderful feeling. So today, let me walk you through the first signs of spring, wedding style!
First when I think about spring, the colors that come to mind are pinks, greens, yellows, orange…the colors of the first blooms of nature. Add a hint of brown or some purple or blue tones. The spring time is just so full of color and life- use it within your spring wedding theme!

Tulips are always a wonderful choice for spring arrangements, also look into daisies, daffodils, lilacs or hyacinth. To top off a bouquet try adding in some forget-me-nots too..super cute. Just the name says it all and I am sure your groom will not forget the image of you walking down that isle…EVER.
Next up in our Spring 2010 tour is the fabulous Jim Hjelm Bridal Collection by Francesca Pitera. To quote their website, “Always known for her unique detailing, this season, Francesca did not disappoint. Pitera feels that details are important because they “add unique and special touch to the gowns.”
Now…how about some spring cake styles to finish out this Friday, here are a few favs! Remember, spring themes should pull colors and designs from nature. I suggest going with fresh flowers, never silk/fake, unless you have a baker who is talented with sugar art, fondant- then that’s GREAT! But to me..silk ones just do not look a nice as the real deal.

I LOVE this shamrock themed wedding cake..so fun and different, especially for the Irish peeps out there. The simple butterfly touch upon the top is a HIT in my book.

Favors…so many great options out there from seed packets to flowering cans, the ideas are out there and most can be done by yourself and the bridesmaids to save some $$ and have fun doing them together- ladies night!
How cute is this idea by Martha Stewart?? Fill small bird’s nests (from supply store) with colored Jordan almonds to do double duty as name cards.
